I had the privilege to interview Halston Dare; she is a singer-songwriter from the United States of America. Growing up in a musical family to a Cuban American, immigrant father, Halston grew up with music in her blood. Read the interview to find out more. PLEASE, BRIEFLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF, HALSTON DARE IN YOUR OWN WORDS? Hi! My names Halston Dare, I am Houston native, singer-songwriter, basketball and football loving, fried chicken tender connoisseur. I am about to turn 21 in September and and I am so excited. On another note, you can expect to hear my new single Replace You, April 24th and music video coming out soon. WHEN DID YOU FIRST BEGIN TO CREATE MUSIC? I started writing poetry around age 9/10 and turned it into musical songwriting when I turned 11. I became the writer I am today in the past year thanks to my influences like Julia Michaels. WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHILE COMPOSING YOUR MUSIC? When It comes to creating a song, I try to listen to my heart and mind most on how I am feeling, what stressors, or drama, or what stories I’m needing to tell that day. It’s truly beautiful getting to be so connected with myself and my feelings especially with my producers like Nash and Michelle.

I have been inspired by so many other artists and writers in this world including my dad.
